RIDE THE FJORDS: The ultimate two-wheel adventure through the fjords, promising the most dramatic cycling experience through the pristine wilderness in Northern Europe – Launching 5 June 2022
Venture out through the untouched natural beauty of the fjords and Sunnmøre Alps on a top-of-the-range Fara bike with 62ºNORD’s epic cycling voyage: Ride the Fjords. This six-day adventure is the ultimate immersive experience into the unspoilt Norwegian wilderness promising vast open roads, fresh alpine air and majestic mountain views. Each trip will be led by an expert team of professional cyclist guides with an epic choice of routes tailored to abilities. The six-day itinerary will begin at the alpine-chic Storfjord Hotel with a welcome from the cycling guide before heading out on a gentle introductory cycle. Breathe in the fresh Norwegian air while winding through the mountainous peaks followed by a mouth-watering lunch stop and cider-tasting. Next, explore the UNESCO World Heritage listed Geirangerfjord on a RIB speedboat excursion, where travellers will reunite with their bike and ride through the majestic valleys. After an active day on wheels, guests can enjoy some R&R with an overnight stay at the iconic Hotel Union Øye, which reopens its doors on 1 June following a dramatic transformation.
After a good night’s sleep head out for a challenging ride through picturesque valleys and rolling hills towards the pristine Hjorunfjord, where a boat will take visitors back to the property for a gentle paced afternoon. Next up, venture north through a set of thrilling switchbacks followed by a gourmet lunch coupled with sensational views of the Norwegian Alps before speeding out towards the Festøy, ending the day at Storfjord Hotel. Travellers will be treated to an epic helicopter ride, offering a bird-eye view of the region, and delivering them to the Trollstigen, Europe’s tallest vertical rock face. Here, cyclists can conquer the switchback corners and marvel at the panoramic views from the 1,100m high mountain peak and achieve the highly coveted Queen Stage of a cycling race. The last day of the trip will see guests cycle a 40km loop of hills and fjords, or alternatively guests can spend the day relaxing with a well-earnt spa treatment amongst the idyllic surroundings of the fjord.
