Luxury adventure specialist Cookson Adventures is offering nine lucky people the opportunity to wine and dine aboard the wreck of the Titanic as part of a survey expedition of one of the worlds most famous ships.
The Titanic when it set sail in 1912 was the ultimate in luxury, but sadly for 1,500 of its 2,240 passengers and crew its untimely sideswiping of an Iceberg during its maiden voyage from Southampton to New York saw the vessel sink to the watery depths of the Atlantic. Since its discovery in 1985, only a handful of people have set eyes on the Titanic – including James Cameron who used footage of the wreck in his 1997 blockbuster film.
The epic adventure will begin with an overnight sail to the wreck and then accompanied by a team of professional, Titan a submersible will dive throughout the Titanic on a detailed guide taking in the ship's deck, bridge, radio room and grand staircase
Chefs will then re-create a 10-course dinner that first class passengers ate aboard the ship before the Titanic collided with the iceberg. Wines from the period will be paired with food, including a bottle of 1907 Heidsieck Gout Champagne which was drunk on the Titanic and salvaged from the wreck of a Swedish schooner that sank in 1916.
Cookson Adventures claim "this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. It is an expedition that will leave you with more than just photographs and videos. This is an adventure that will give you stories to tell your friends and family of your extraordinary visit to the world’s most famous wreckage, before it disappears."
