Designed by Smarcicle founder and CEO Shanggui Wu the idea behind the carbon fiber S1 was to offer an alternative mode of transport for short commutes between a station and the workplace.
With a battery life of one hour at its top speed of 12.4 miles per hour or twice that at 6mph. The bikes lithium-ion battery which are tucked away in the seat, take about 2.5 hours to fully recharge an accompanying mobile app for iOS and Android lets you monitor battery usage and speed via your smartphone, which you can slot in the center of the handlebars.
Following a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo which eclipsed the $30,000 fudning goal securing $559,000 + the SmaCircleS1 is scheduled for release mid - late February
