At the Monterey Jet Center Auction this August with an expected price of between $1.4 million and $1.8 million ..
When you think of James Bond the iconic Aston Martin DB5 also spring to mind, not least because it starred in seven of the spy thrillers and now fans of both Bond and Aston Martin have the chance to purchase not just the vehicle which in itself is a feat considering only 1,100 of the beautifull cars were made during its three year production period but also one owned by the legendary Bond actor Sir Sean Connery's himself.
Auctioned by Broad Arrow Auctions the Connery DB5 represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, clothed in aluminum 'saloon' bodywork by Milanese design house, Carrozzeria Touring, the Snow Shadow Grey over red Connolly leather, five-speed grand tourer was personally owned by Sir Sean and is offered for sale directly from the Connery estate following the passing of SSir Sean Connery in 2020 with a significant portion of the sale proceeds to benefit the Sean Connery Philanthropy Fund.
Despite being a "grand old lady" the 4.0-liter straight-six car has been well maintained over the years and was recently inspected by Aston Martin specialist RS Williams.
As part of the auction the winning bidder will recieve a drive in the car at a mutually agreeable time by fellow Scotsman, and multiple F1 World Championship racing driver, Sir Jackie Stewart . While the drive itself will no doubt be memorable, the opportunity to perhaps hear a bit more about Sir Sean from a lifelong friend will no doubt be an equally compelling aspect of the added bonus as both Sir Sean and Sir Jackie shared a long history of charitable work together.
The Connery Aston Martin DB6 will be auctioned at the Monterey Jet Center Auction on August 17 and 18 with an expected sale price of between $1.4 million and $1.8 million.
