Millions watched to see if theirs would be the winning entry of the 2018 HGTV Dream Home, and now this masterpiece of artisan style is available for sale.
There were over 123 million entries to win the grand prize package valued at more than $1.8 million. And yes, there was a lucky winner, but because many times it’s impossible for a winner to pick up and move to a different part of the country, this fabulous house, with all of its designer contents, has been put on the market.
In one of the most scenic spots in the country, Gig Harbor, Washington, HGTV’s senior property hunter found an existing 1974 home on a cliff above the water’s edge with a spectacular view of Henderson Bay and its colorful sunsets. In addition to a sound house, there was a concrete bulkhead that would make a great waterside lounge area and steps going down to the water for water recreation.
Steeped in modern rusticity from its textured-stone car park to its dark-brown siding and dramatically pitched steel roof, the house blends naturally into its earthy, woodsy surroundings. At 3,591 square feet, it takes full advantage of the water views through its wraparound two-story vaulted glass wall that bathes the white interior with light. Consisting of four bedrooms and three baths on different levels, there is plenty of space for family and friends alike. The main level is open and spacious with views from the living room, kitchen and dining area with an additional accent feature of a centrally placed wrought-iron railing surrounding a staircase between kitchen and dining descending to the lower level. The kitchen is composed of a large island for food prep and casual dining and furnished with high-end appliances that accesses the large outdoor dining terrace. The main level also includes the master suite with sitting area and water views with eye-catching attached bath, vaulted ceilings and custom walk-in closet. There is a second master suite on the main level with bath and walk-in closet. The lower level has two more bedrooms, a hall bath, separate areas for entertaining, a media area, a wet bar area with wine cooler - all leading out to the rear covered sitting area, outdoor kitchen and waterfront.
Gig Harbor is well known for its picturesque historic waterfront, boutiques and fine dining, less than 20 minutes to Tacoma and an hour to Seattle. This is a second chance to own HGTV’s 2018 Dream Home priced at $1.899 million.
