Brabus unveils the new Mercedes-Benz G-Class INVICTO an armored, blast proof SUV ...
Founded back in 1977 as a high-performance tuning company, specializing in Mercedes-Benz vehicles, BRABUS enters into uncharted territories, creating the Invicto, the company’s first ever armored vehicle.
The vehicle is equipped with the Invicto Shelter Cell that meets OEM factory armoring standards, hot-formed armoring steel plates, 3D-printed protection parts, and the INVICTO VR6 Plus ERV (Explosion Resistant Vehicle) protection.
With all this added reinforcement as you can imagine the Invicto packs a punch and weighs 2,205 pounds more than a standard G-Wagen, to accommodate this the car needed bigger, more potent brakes with 401 millimeters discs and six-piston calipers at the front and 380 discs and four-piston calipers at the rear make it stop when required.
Thanks to BRABUS’s B40S-800 performance kit, the Invicto is powered by two BRABUS special turbochargers with larger compressor unit (ø 52 mm) and modified core assemblies with reinforced axial bearings. The 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 powersource with BRABUS 800 PowerXtra + specification delivers an output of 588 kW / 800 hp (789 bhp) and 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft) of torque. The top speed is electronically limited to 210 km/h (130 mph).
No pricing info has been released as yet for this beast but you can expect to pay a hefty price for all that protection. The production is scheduled to start in the first half of this year, so watch this space....
