The Louis Vuitton Montgolfière Aéro is an extraordinary horological masterpiece that blends traditional craftsmanship with modern luxury. Inspired by the golden age of travel this clock represents a new chapter in Louis Vuitton‘s history, demonstrating Louis Vuitton’s watchmaking expertise.
The stunning hot air balloon is available in two variants; a traditional red and transparent glass version that plays with light and a cooper alloy and wood version decorated with 1,420 round diamonds totalling around 55.8 carats and a briolette-cut citrine of 9.06 carats, and a square-cut citrine for 0.42 carats.
At the heart of balloon rests a prominent Louis Vuitton Monogram Flower, used as a pointer to signify the time. Driven by a L’Epée 1855 LR Calibre mechanical movement with manual winding it comprises of 207 components offering an impressive eight days of power reserve.
The miniature Louis Vuitton trunk, crafted using centuries-old trunkmaking techniques is one of the smallest ever created by the Maison it houses the clock’s winding mechanism and can be displayed either as a table clock or suspended from the ceiling.
Limited to just eight pieces per version with the brass and red hot air balloon retailing for £49,000 while the diamond-studded piece is price on application.
