LIVE ABOVE THE FAMOUS NOTTING HILL BOOKSHOP

The apartment above the Travel Book Shop featured in the 1999 box office hit Notting Hill has recently been listed for sale with real estate agents Russell Simpson...

The triplex apartment, located on Portobello Road, offers 1,414 sq. ft. of internal accommodation, and 358 sq. ft. of outside space, with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a private terrace. The apartment is on sale for £2.375 million.

The Travel Book Shop where protagonist William Thacker (played by Hugh Grant) worked was a central spot in the Notting Hill movie. Here, Hugh Grant’s character met love interest and Hollywood Actress Anna Scott, played by Julia Roberts. The shop then went on to later set the backdrop for Anna’s legendary love confessional as well as other memorable scenes from the award-winning movie.

The building’s exterior was used as the Travel Book Shop in the film, although the scenes from interior of the shop were filmed in a private studio. The building was formerly the Nicholls Antique Arcade and then went on to be a furniture shop called Gong. It now currently serves as a gift shop but retains the iconic blue façade, which has remained in place since filming took place in 1998.
