Less than 3 years after Liberty Media acquired Formula One for $8billion, reports claim that the American company is reportedly looking at scenarios to sell or decrease their stake in the global franchise.
After promising of bring better financial management and boosting the fan experience Liberty's watch have not been universally welcomed. It has failed to add races and/or major sponsors, attract younger fans or drive digital revenues and the removal of the grid girls didn't go down too well with the traditional F1 romantics and drivers alike.
According to a report in johnwallstreet.com Bernie Ecclestone, the British business who built the brand who has openly criticized Liberty for their methods over the last two years can likely reclaim the asset back but for a fraction of the $8 billion he sold it for. The question on everyone's lips is would he want too?
