The first two days of the Arqana Deauville Select Sale saw FRANKEL and KINGMAN yearlings sell for €630,000 and €1,000,000 respectively, and an OASIS DREAM filly make almost four times her conception fee...
The first of the trio through the ring was lot 88, an OASIS DREAM filly out of stakes winner Eyeful on day one of the sale. The filly, consigned by Haras de Sablonnets, was purchased for €115,000 by Laurent Benoit's Broadhurst Agency.
Day two of the sale saw a FRANKEL filly out of two-year-old winner and stakes performer Militante sell for €630,000. After a bidding battle between Laurent Benoit and Sebastian Desmontils she was eventually knocked down to Desmontils who bought the filly on behalf of Japanese owner Hisaaki Saito. Desmontils commented: "[Mr. Saito] has two in training with Fabrice Chappet and two with Henri Devin so we will see where this princess will go. We're not sure yet, but he will decide after they have been broken in."
Also through the ring yesterday was a KINGMAN colt who made €1,100,000, one of only three horses to break the seven figure barrier in the first two days of the sale. The colt is out of FRANKEL mare Speralita, a half-sister to multiple Group/Grade 1 winner Stacelita and dam of Classic winner Soul Stirring (FRANKEL). Consigned by Haras des Capucines, the colt was purchased by Anthony Stroud on behalf of Godolphin. Stroud said: "He's a lovely strong colt and looks really athletic."
