DeLorean has teased that one of its most iconic vehicles the DMC-12 sports car will return as an all new electric vehicle..
The Texas-based DeLorean Motor Company that purchased the rights to the Delorean brand has teased a luxury-orientated, gullwing-doored EV. The reimagined DMC will be called the DeLorean EVolved.
The original DeLorean became a pop-culture icon in the early 1980s thanks to the “Back to the Future” film franchise, despite the legal woes of the late John DeLorean a who was arrested in 1982 after being videotaped in an FBI sting operation agreeing to bankroll drug trafficking.
The teaser didn’t reveal much but shows a prototype that certainly looks like the original DMC-12 with the same windscreen shape, long bonnet and gullwing doors.
