Sitting on the shores of Lake Como is Villa d’Este a 16th-century villa set in 25 acres of gardens once owned by Queen Caroline after she fled from George IV and one of the grandest hotels in Europe since the 19th century.
Each year this spectacular venue plays host to the Villa d’Este Wine Symposium, a three day wine tasting event created by François Mauss, president and founder of the Grand Jury Européen, a networking event which endeavors to be an exclusive and unique place for an international dialogue around wine.
This year’s event focuses on the future of "Le Grand Vin" and the “Wines of Portugal”
As with everything surrounding fine wines, this event is not cheap, hotel guests can expect to pay from €4,270 to €6,100, based on single or double occupancy however inclusive in this is gourmet food, seminars and workshops, concerts and of course, multiple wine tastings guided by experts who will share insights into some of the world’s finest vintages.
The Villa d’Este Wine Symposium returns for its eleventh year from 7 – 10 November.
