Berkeley reveals South Quay Plaza’s next wellness-centred phase, Harcourt Gardens ..
Award-winning developer Berkeley just unveiled the next chapter of its landmark South Quay Plaza development with the launch of Harcourt Gardens. Designed by globally-renowned architects Foster + Partners around the ethos of Life in Harmony, the new phase of 351 homes blends a fast-paced cosmopolitan lifestyle with a wealth of relaxing amenities to create an unrivalled holistic living experience moments from Canary Wharf. The unique offering includes three leafy gardens interspersed throughout the building spanning 9,000 sq. ft., in addition to co-working space, high-end fitness facilities and a spa with hot tubs on the terrace.
Harcourt Gardens will create an exceptional opportunity for residents to enjoy a balanced lifestyle, with close proximity to all the exciting leisure and business of nearby Canary Wharf. The new tower will stand at 198m tall, with 56 storeys providing a mixture of one, two, three-bedroom and penthouse apartments, with prices starting from £720,000.
Green space is at the heart of Harcourt Gardens, which is surrounded by 2.6 acres of landscaped gardens, complemented by indoor gardens and outside terraces filled with trees, flower and plants every 19 floors. On the 18th floor, the Bamboo Sanctuary will be an urban sanctuary, comprising a state-of-the-art gym, health suite and spa, leading to hot tubs on the outdoor terrace, overlooking the London skyline. On the 37th floor, the iGarden will form an expansive co-working space with indoor and outdoor options, with a games room and sound proofed karaoke studio. Finally, the Sky Meadow, a roof garden on the 55th floor complete with a BBQ area, will provide unrivalled views of the London skyline at almost 200m high.
Residents will automatically become members of The Quay Club, providing access to all of the above facilities but also allowing them to use existing amenities in neighbouring Valiant Tower, which include a double-height panoramic swimming pool overlooking the South Dock, extensive gym facilities, 56th floor bar and terrace, screening room, private dining room and meeting room.
The apartments have been carefully curated by interior designers Sheppard Robson and come in a choice of three colour palettes; First Light, Noon and Twilight. These allow purchasers to select a theme which best matches their personal tastes, with each offering an elegant backdrop to everyday living. The homes have been designed in an open-plan setting, with fully-fitted kitchens including integrated Siemens appliances and built-in wine coolers. Floor-to-ceiling glazing will ensure that each apartment will have an elevated vista across the London skyline for higher homes or the expansive gardens for homes on the lower floors.
When complete, South Quay Plaza will provide over 1,300 stunning new homes with 40,000 sq. ft. of residents’ amenities. The development is situated moments from Canary Wharf, which is home to five shopping malls and a wide range of restaurants, as well as hosting some of the city’s most significant business headquarters. The area has transformed in recent years, evolving from a predominantly business-orientated district to one which is supplemented by a diverse range of green and waterside spaces, with a thriving community and an exciting events programme which means there is always something to do in the area.
Canary Wharf is well-served by Jubilee and DLR services as the development is adjacent to South Quay DLR and just 500m from Canary Wharf underground station. The Elizabeth Line will become operational in 2022, and a new footbridge will connect the development to Canary Wharf Crossrail station in under four minutes. The development is also a short journey from London City Airport, and Thames Clipper services link to the rest of London.
Apartments at Harcourt Gardens start from £720,000 for a one-bedroom home.
