BETTE MIDLER AND GEORGE LUCAS HOLLYWOOD HILLS HOME!

Big celebrities usually can buy almost any home that suits their fancy, but when one home is chosen repeatedly, it would seem to click the boxes for both wowing guests and also be the kind of home that offers the much needed respite from their high-pressured work lives. This home in Hollywood Hills clicked all the boxes for superstar Bette Midler and Star Wars creator, George Lucas.

Having sheltered and inspired two of Hollywood’s most celebrated icons, it is now for sale, priced at $4.48 million.

Between 1983 and 1987, Bette Midler lived in this house while temporarily stepping away from acting to regroup and concentrate on her music career. During her hiatus there, she started her own production company All Girl Productions with producing partner Bonnie Bruckheimer and participated in the 1985 African fundraiser We Are the World. Also in 1985, she signed a deal with Walt Disney to star in a group of successful films produced by Touchstone Pictures and her own production company. It was from there that she made the unforgettable Down and Out in Beverly Hills, which threw her feet first into another successful career niche, comedic acting.

Wildly successful entrepreneur, creator, writer and filmmaker, George Lucas, creator of the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises, also owned the home from 2008 until 2010. So the question arises: Does this house contain some mystical power to propel its talented owners to the pinnacle of their success?

Privately gated with mature landscaping blocking out neighbors, the 1936 Nantucket-style traditional radiates warmth at first glance. Inside, crisp white walls invite an art collection and highlight the new wide-board French oak floors. At 3,200 square feet, there are three bedrooms, including a large, airy master suite with fireplace, four total baths and an upstairs balcony that overlooks the large brick pool and party terrace and outdoor kitchen. Downstairs rooms open via French doors to achieve true indoor-outdoor California style living.

Chosen by two creative celebrities, Bette Midler and George Lucas, it is now for sale, priced at $4.48 million. The listing agent is Craig White of Douglas Elliman, Beverly Hills.
