CARTIER RE-IMAGINES THE ICONIC TANK FRANCAISE WATCH

An icon for over 27years the Cartier Tank Francaise timepiece has become one of the most desirable watches coveted by men and women alike and now it's had a modern makeover..

Fashioned after the tanks of WWI by Louis Cartier in 1917 the elegant design is Inspired by the view of a combat vehicle from above. The first Cartier watch to ever feature a curved, water-resistant case, followed by a new folding buckle that replaced the mechanism Cartier in 1996 the Cartier Tank Francaise timepiece is pure understated elegance.

Today, Cartier has reinvented the timepiece with a brand new version that embodies the design codes of the original while also giving it a fresh modern appeal.

Offered in steel and 18-karat yellow gold, the new Tank Française collection offers a total of seven references — some adorned with diamonds and some without. All powered by a quartz movement, save for the large steel model, which is the only mechanical movement with automatic winding. The gold models have a champagne sunray-brushed dial with black Roman numerals while the steel models sport the same details in cool silver.

To launch the new Tank Francaise, Cartier has created a special video campaign directed by Guy Ritchie starring Catherine Deneuve and American actor Rami Malek. The film traces the 18,261 steps Malek and Deneuve walked on the Alexandre III bridge in Paris — each beginning on a different side of the bridge before they cross paths.
