Lewis Hamilton continues to extend his lead following his win at the French Grand Prix however team principle Toto Wolff still believes Bottas can challenge Hamilton for the Formula One title ..
As has become the norm this season Mercedes registered a one - two win at the Paul Ricardo race track in France. The Finn currently sits 36 points behind Hamilton but Wolff told reporters on Sunday “I’m optimistic that Valtteri just needs one good weekend in order to come close to Lewis and not let him run away with the championship.”
Valtteri has most definitely upped his game this season having secured two wins, last year he won no races and his qualifying sessions have resulted in three pole starts.
After Sunday's race Bottastold reporters he had been unable to match Hamilton’s pace, and had suffered some front tyre blistering, but would keep fighting.
