McLaren have pledged their commitment to both drivers by extending their contracts for another season ...
19 year old Lando Norris was just a junior when he signed with McLaren back in 2017 and so far during his debut season in F1 he has shown great steel and driver ability out-qualifying his more experienced teammate Sainz on more than one occasion securing two sixth place finishes thus far. He currently sits just 8 points behind Sainz in the Drivers' standings.
Both drivers have performed well so far this year putting McLaren in fourth place in the constructors' standings, 20 points clear of fifth-placed Renault.
McLaren CEO Zak Brown said: “I’m delighted we’re able to announce our 2020 driver line-up ahead of the team’s home race at the British Grand Prix this weekend. The performance of both Carlos and Lando have been a key part of the team’s progress. "
