Vettel is all smiles at the end of day one of F1 pre-season testing, having lead the leaderboard since before lunch the German also racked up the most lap circuits having completed an astonishing 169 laps
The two Ferrari-powered teams, Haas and Alfa Romeo also secured good positions with Romain Grosjean and the experienced Kimi Raikkonen sitting in P3 and P5 respectively
Having sat out until after lunch, last years champion Lewis Hamilton finished down in ninth position with Bottas sitting one place ahead in P8.
The shock drive of the day had to go to McLaren’s Carlos Sainz who finished the day up in finishing in P2.
Williams, meanwhile, didn't get out on track with the team saying their car will likely not run until "Wednesday at the earliest".
